Sep. 2013 – The Loch Ness Marathon

WHAT: The Baxters Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running is a notable fixture on the running calendar.  There are great marathons around the world, many of them particularly marked by their settings, and the Loch Ness ranks right alongside them.

The centuries-old legend of the Loch Ness Monster is a story that continues to run. Along with the scenic beauty of the area, it has been responsible for attracting visitors to this fascinating part of Scotland for many years. The route begins in an atmospheric location and continues through breathtaking scenery, taking you along the south-eastern shores of Loch Ness, across the River Ness, and into the centre of Inverness, capital city of the Highlands.

WHEN: September 29th 2013

WHERE: Loch Ness, nr. Inverness, Scotland

ABOUT: Katie D. bought a pair of trainers and started running. Why? Because she wanted to find some way of showing everyone that Olivia won’t be forgotten, and people won’t stop thinking of her. She realised that none of her words would do this justice, and so decided that she really wanted to do something that would show everyone that she is forever in her thoughts.

She decided that she was going to do something that shows how much Olivia has inspired everyone – even those that had never been lucky to meet her.  So she settled on running the Loch Ness Marathon for Wishes for Olivia on behalf of Make-A-Wish Foundation of Canada, to honour her life and raise money for this important cause.

Her goal is $500. Can you help?
